2023 NFL Schedule release: Bills-Jets MNF opener, Raiders-Chiefs Christmas Day matchup announced

The NFL has announced the schedule for the 2023 season, with some exciting matchups to look forward to. The season will kick off with a matchup between the Detroit Lions and the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1. The upstart Lions, projected by many as the best team in the NFC North, will attempt to take down Patrick Mahomes and the league-leading Chiefs offense.

Aaron Rodgers will make his Jets debut in prime time on Monday Night Football against Josh Allen and the AFC East-rival Bills. The defending division champions will be looking to start the season strong and plant their flag right away.

The Cowboys will return to the scene of the crime to take on San Francisco in Week 7. The 49ers have sent the Cowboys home the past two years, and Dak Prescott and company will be looking for revenge.

The Chiefs and Eagles will square off in Week 11 in a Super Bowl rematch. The game is certain to have playoff implications and will see familiar stars such as Chris Jones and Travis Kelce of the Chiefs matching up with Jason Kelce and Darius Slay of the Eagles.

A divisional rivalry will be renewed on Christmas Day between the Las Vegas Raiders and the defending Super Bowl-champion Chiefs. The Raiders will be looking to keep pace with the often-explosive Chiefs offense, engineered by none other than two-time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes.
