25-Year-Old Woman Diagnosed with Terminal Cancer After Suffering from Stomach Ache

A 25-year-old woman named Madison Baloy was diagnosed with stage 4 adenocarcinoma, a type of cancer that forms in the glandular tissue, after experiencing stomach aches and losing 60 pounds in 2022. Baloy, a school teacher, first experienced terrible stomach aches in June 2022 when she was at a music concert. She thought it was God answering her prayers and giving her the perfect body, but she was dying and none of them knew. After enduring persistent stomach aches for a year, she went to a medical center, and the nurse told her that her stomach ache could be due to cancer. Her CT scan revealed a cluster of tumors pushing down on her large intestine, causing stomach aches. 48 hours later, an emergency surgery was performed on her, and it was revealed that she has stage four cancer. It took her 10 days to recover.

Adenocarcinoma is treated surgically, through chemotherapy, and through radiation treatment. The common symptoms associated with adenocarcinomas are fatigue, a new cough which is persistent in nature, sputum which has traces of blood in it, difficulty in breathing, change in voice pattern, lack of interest in food, and unexplained weight loss. Weight loss, particularly, should not be ignored, and if one experiences a sudden drop in weight, please consult a doctor.

Symptoms of adenocarcinoma vary as per the site of the cancer. For example, those who have pancreatic cancer are likely to experience signs like heartburn, nausea, vomiting, bloating, and back pain. Abdominal pain and diarrhea are commonly seen in those who have colorectal cancer. Wheezing, weight loss, chest pain, and shortness of breath are seen in those who have lung cancer. These symptoms are also seen in those who have esophageal cancer. In the case of stomach cancer, the common signs are bloating and stomach pain.
