“It Meant Everything”: Paul Walker’s Co-Stars Reflect On His Daughter’s Fast X Cameo

Paul Walker’s co-stars are reflecting on his daughter’s Fast X cameo. The film, which serves as the tenth main installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, premiered on May 19. It finds Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his team targeted by a new enemy in Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa), seeking revenge for his father’s death. Though Walker’s final appearance came in Furious 7, the series has continued to honor the late actor and recently, his daughter Meadow was given a small role in Fast X. In her cameo, she plays a flight attendant who helps Jakob (John Cena) evade his pursuers on a plane.

During an interview with People, Diesel explained that Meadow’s Fast X cameo “meant everything,” something Michelle Rodriguez echoed, adding that Walker will be remembered through the films. Jordana Brewster also shared that Meadow is a part of the franchise after her debut, calling her work “inspiring.”

Paul Walker played an important role in the Fast & Furious franchise, appearing as Brian O’Conner through six installments. One of the series’ main protagonists, Brian worked undercover for the LAPD, but eventually became Dom’s ally and fell in love with Mia (Brewster). Though his character was given a happy ending, Walker’s passing in 2013 has affected fans, and many appreciate the way the series incorporates nods to him. Fast X features flashbacks of Brian, but the inclusion of Meadow is significant because of her relationship with the film’s cast.

Much of the Fast & Furious crew have supported Walker’s family, and Diesel even attended Meadow’s wedding back in 2021. The actor’s brothers, Cody and Caleb, seem to remain close to those involved as well, and actually stood in for Walker in order to complete Furious 7. Prior to the release of Fast X, Meadow took to social media to share a behind-the-scenes look at her character and reflected on being able to honor her father.

The comments by Walker’s co-stars reveal just how much they care about his family and because Meadow grew up around these movies, it seems only fitting she would make an appearance. Since she was introduced as someone familiar with Jakob, it is worth wondering if her character will return in another installment, too. Those eager to see Meadow in Fast X can be sure to catch the film while it is in theaters.
