8-Year-Old Girl Dies After Falling into Kings River in Sanger, Second Child Still Missing

An 8-year-old girl has been found dead after falling into the Kings River in Sanger, Fresno County. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon when the girl and her 10-year-old brother were swept away by the river’s strong currents. The boy is still missing and a search operation is underway to find him.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office received a call about the incident around 4:30 p.m. and immediately dispatched rescue teams to the area. The girl’s body was found a few hours later, but the search for her brother was called off due to darkness and resumed on Monday morning.

The Kings River is known for its strong currents and has claimed several lives in the past. Authorities have warned people to be cautious while swimming or playing near the river, especially during the summer months when the water levels are high.
