14 Holy Cross Athletes Named Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholars

The College of the Holy Cross has announced that 14 student-athletes have been named 2023 Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholars. The award recognizes their athletic and academic achievements.

The Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars program was founded by Diverse: Issues In Higher Education magazine to honor undergraduate students of color who exemplify the standards set by tennis legend Arthur Ashe Jr. These standards include academic excellence, athletic excellence, and community activism.

The Holy Cross athletes who received this honor are:

  • Abigail Hamilton (Women’s Track and Field)
  • Alana Potts (Women’s Track and Field)
  • Anthony Brown (Football)
  • Brandon Buckman (Men’s Soccer)
  • Chloe Boucher (Women’s Swimming and Diving)
  • David Kalema (Men’s Track and Field)
  • Emily Willson (Women’s Rowing)
  • Grace Smith (Women’s Soccer)
  • Isabella Juarez (Women’s Soccer)
  • Jackie Gonzalez (Women’s Swimming and Diving)
