Jameis Winston can?t get the #offense going so far. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are down 10-0 at the half against the Carolina Panthers, in a #game that is surprisingly devoid of any kind of spectacle. This was supposed to be a bit of a shootout, with the Bucs offense unleashed and the Panthers facing one of the worst defenses in the NFL. Instead, it?s been a surprisingly plodding and defense-dominated performance. Neither team has been able to find explosive plays, and have been forced to churn through third down after third down. The Panthers are doing better there, which is why they read more...

Week 8 started on Thursday night with a blowout win for the Baltimore Ravens. The rest of the #week produced games that were closer, with the Houston-Seattle game delivering a particularly awesome ending. The Jaguars had the week off, which means at least one quarterback was spa#red an embarrassing game. But between special teams, poor rushing attacks, and some quarterbacks, there were plenty of disappointments in the week. Here?s a look at the biggest disappointments of Week 8.Detroit Lions? red #zone offenseThe Detroit Lions looked incredible on Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers ? as read more...

New England #played an uneven #game but came away with #the victory. It might not have been pretty but it ultimately was enough to beat the visiting Los Angeles Chargers 21-13: The New England Patriots played a somewhat sloppy contest yesterday but were able to grind it out in the end to improve their record to 6-2 heading ? or, when judged by some of the injuries, limping ? into their bye week. With that in mind, let's take a look at some of the standouts of Sunday's game. Winner: RB James White While uneven throughout the contest, the Patriots offense had its moments yesterday ? and a read more...

When trying to pin-point what went right for the Steelers in Week 8, you can start with #3rd down success. The Steelers Week 8 #win over the Lions at Ford Field was not one of those perfect victories. Think back to the game vs. the Colts at Heinz Field, wearing the bumble bee uniforms, when Ben Roethlisberger threw for over 500 yards and six touch#downs. Think back to the 2016 win over the Chiefs at Heinz Field when the team demolished the Chiefs 42-14 as Le?Veon Bell carved up the Kansas City defense. Those were some of those perfect victories. Where very little goes wrong, and almost read more...

This may not be a popular view, but I'm OK with how things have gone this #year. The #team has exceeded my expectations. Hell... How many of us thought we would be 3-5 at this point? And that's without any WRs #and playing a rookie QB who is not yet ready to win at the NFL level.A lot of people here want to micro-manage the offense. But the coaching staff is in a really bad spot. Mike Glennon was brought in to be a game manager and flopped. We didn't have a good WR group to begin with and we pretty well haven't had our top 3 guys all year. Our best OL guy was out for several games and now read more...

They have teams with not much talent in some key spots, who are playing very hard, and staying in every game and who actually should have even more wins than they have ? but given the realities of their situations coming into the season, it's not going to be enough. The Bears defense is playing out of its mind with Vic Fangio leading that unit (more on that below) and won some games with raw rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, but the read more...

Maybe the real issue with the Steelers? offense involves the #receivers rather than the passer. A substantial portion of the blame for the Pittsburgh Steelers? persistent difficulty in translating field position to touchdowns this #season has been laid at the feet of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. It?s been said that Big Ben no longer can do the wondrous things that became his trademark as one of the NFL?s top field generals during his 14 seasons in the league. Questions also have been raised about Ben?s degree of motivation, particularly in view of the hints he dropped at the end of read more...
