I have been a big supporter of Dowell Loggains. I assumed that his biggest problem was that he didn't have the talent he needed on offense to run a successful playbook. After this game, I think I have changed my mind. I want to support him as OC, I just can't anymore. There is rarely any creativity to what he is doing, and he doesn't seem to understand situational football.

Too many times throughout the entire game, opportunities presented themselves for the Bears to take shots down the field, run a mis-direction play, or pick-up a couple critical yards at a key moment, and he just didn't seem like he knew how and when to do that. There was one very successful naked boot that they ran, but couldn't get the ball to a receiver. The sequence at the end of the game, when we were 3rd & 1, with 2 entire minutes left, was inexcusable. You absolutely 100% have to work on getting a new set of downs. Not huck the ball down field twice. It was unfathomable.

Although he is occasionally successful at running good plays, its the NFL. You need to know what you're doing...all the time. There were several of us in the chat room that were calling out poor play calling. If its obvious to us, its GOT to be obvious to other D-Coordinators, and hopefully Ryan Pace.

I am going to go back and look at some of the play sequences, but I don't think it will change my mind. It will probably just re enforce my feelings that Loggains is not fit for the OC job.
